2 years since the end of treatment!

two years ago today was my last day of breast cancer treatment. unleashed!

two years without recurrence is a big milestone for those of us with triple negative breast cancer. five years without recurrence is cause for major celebration statistically. so i'm hoping for especially the next 1,095 days to be without recurrence.

tallied up, that means 1,095 days of a lot of exercise (you will find me walking or biking on russell blvd on the olive-tree path every day in davis!), a very healthy diet, appreciating every day with friends and family, insanely delicious meals at sophia's, photography with the davis photo club, speaking french at international house, volunteering at yolo hospice, my job of listening to oral histories, visiting my two sons and daughter-in-law in venice and santa monica, monthly trips to pillar point harbor and pacifica, continuing my surfing photography, yearly trips to the bayou and uncertain, TX, and, most importantly to me, showing my sons and daughter-in-law what a happy life looks like after cancer and including them in it.

for the last few days i've been enjoying texts from my oldest son, who is in africa as the videographer for travel mission to tanzania. a world away! and my youngest son and his wife are leaving soon for another trip to mexico, and are putting things into place to move to costa rica next year. i am so happy my kids are enjoying life to the fullest while they're so young!

57 days till i move to davis!

xoxo

Congratulations on that milestone. My 2 year anniversary of completing treatment will be July 14th (also triple negative), so when I say I can relate...I really mean it. All the best to you and your family.

congratulations Deborah! My two year anniversary won't be until next year, but my oncologist was already celebrating because we're almost at my two years since diagnosis already!
Here's to three more years!!
